Book Reading Sessions in the Shanty Towns of Islamamad.

On the occassion of 'Commemoration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki's bombing Funkor Childart Center organised book reading session at the shanty town 'Katchi Abadi' French Colony Islamabad. This shanty town is home to the marginalised Christian community. Safia Khan read the story to children and 146 books were distributed among children as well as food. 12 Japanese Volunteers of JICA made paper cranes with children. Children also painted a mural on Christian-Muslim Harmony. Peace activist A.H.Nayyar, Zarina Salamat, Nasreen Sultana, Samina Khan Executive Director of Sungi, Sarah Mahmood member board Funkor Childart Center and Naila Zahid were also present on the occassion.

On June 5th, 2009, Funkor Childart Center organised book reading session in the Universal Gospel Church, G 7/1. Each child eager to read was given a chance to read out a page infront of all the children. Questions were asked at the end of the session, all the children who answered were given prizes. 35 'Sadako Prayer' books were distributed among children.

In March 2010, Funkor Childart Center organised book reading session in the Universal Gospel Assemblies Church of Pakistan-G 7/1. Each child eager to read was given a chance to read out a page infront of all the children. Questions were asked at the end of the session, all the children who answered were given prizes. 98 'Sadako's Prayer' books were distributed free among children.

In May 2010, Funkor Childart Center organised book reading session in the Nam Seoul Presbyterian Church of Pakistan-G 7/2. Each child eager to read was given a chance to read out a page infront of all the children. Questions were asked at the end of the session, all the children who answered were given prizes. 60 'Sadako Prayer' books were distributed free among children.
